Energy Efficient Stoves Might Change Your View of Environmental Protection
Updated: Aug 2, 2020
For those of us living in developed countries, being friendly to the environment on an individual level is usually an act like planting a tree or biking instead of driving. When we talk about conservation on a larger scale, we might say "Stop cutting down so many trees!" or "Shut down those pollution-heavy factories!" because we want those harmful activities to stop. But that's because we live in a world where technology is as good as it gets, and we subconsciously assume that about the world. In reality, there is quite a bit of pollution that simply results from people working with sub-optimal tools. The energy efficient stoves that PandaWorld raised funds for are actually just improvements on the wood-burning stoves that many villages near panda habitats are forced to use. Yes, the new stoves also generate pollution, but they are still a huge improvement from the old ones. It's important to remember that every step counts, and we don't have to make huge changes to play our part in saving the environment.
